News Codito announces ARC Linux community support site Codito and ARC jointly announce arc-linux.org, the home of open source software for ARC cores. It contains up-to-date information on the status and roadmap of open source software components on the ARC platforms. The website will serve as a collaboration medium for developers and users of Linux and GCC on ARC cores. Texas Instruments teams with Codito to offer programmability and scheduling solutions on TI's Digital Media Processor Texas Instruments (TI) has teamed up with Codito Technologies to provide existing and new customers of TI's system-on-chip (SoC) Digital Media processor with an automated software programmability solution. Codito's patent pending technology, Cascade, integrates a multiprocessor visual language and advanced automated scheduling techniques that enable rapid application development. Codito Technologies is presenting its Cascade programmability technology for Multi-core processors at the GSPx 2005 conference in Santa Clara. Udayan Kanade, Chief Scientist at Codito Technologies will be presenting "Automation in Single Chip Parallel Programming The 'Cascade Language". For more information read the GSPX 2005 site here Codito announces support for SIMD Extensions from ARC International ARC's forthcoming Multimedia Subsystem will support 104 new 128-bit-wide SIMD instructions that can reduce power and improve performance in mobile applications by exploiting the parallelism inherent in multimedia applications, the company says. ARC's new SIMD extensions won the product of the year award at GSPX 2005. Codito will support ARC's new SIMD instructions in the GNU toolchain for the ARC as well as Linux / uClinux on the ARC700 platforms.
