Philosophy

Codito adopts an intrinsic association with the Open Source community, encouraging chip manufacturers, OEMs and SoC companies to benefit from the proven Open Source Development Model. At a corporate level, clients who opt for Open Source solutions are encouraged to release code and intellectual property back into the community.

The symbiosis between the Open Source Community and Codito has produced a pool of talent, which, in the true spirit of Open Source, Codito shares willingly with the world. Teams at Codito are comprised of an energetic group of people well versed with the processes that have made the Open Source development model so sought after the world over. The emphasis has been on passing on the the torch of free development to whomsoever wishes to adopt it, especially the thriving student community in Pune.

As such, Codito actively promotes distribution of our rich open knowledge base to the student community and the academia. Codito is the founder member of the Local chapter of GNU/Linux enthusiasts - the Pune GNU/Linux Users Group (PLUG) and continues its support towards it.

Our strong bond with the academia is used to promote technical education. Employees of Codito regularly teach computer science courses at graduate and post graduate levels at the University of Pune and these courses make extensive use of Open Source code bases.

Codito recommends, lobbies for and works with academia towards inclusion of Open Source softwares in student curricula and is grateful for the support received so far.
